Remembering Herb Edwards
June 12, 1926 - May 29, 2002

On Wednesday June 19, 2002 a memorial service was held at Flanagan Field for EAA Chapter 960 charter member Herb Edwards. A meal was provided by the chapter with the cooking done by Jack & Harold. The meal was followed by a fly-over with a missing man formation, scattering of ashes, memorial service and Herb stories told by several friends.

Herb pictured here with friends Mr. Tillman, Bobby Edwards and Rich Seabridge. The
boys were posing with Mr. Tillman's 1931 Aeronca C-3. Photo provided by former
member Rich Seabridge.

Miss Anna and daughter Tina sit and talk to old friends.

The crowd gathered at the end of the hangars to watch the fly-over.

Jack Farrior was the flight leader for the missing man formation fly-over in his Great Lakes bi-plane.

Wayne Slaughter and Herb's daughter Tina were flying the missing man position in Scott Flanagan's Stinson 108. This plane was like one that Herb used to own.

Hilton Carson flew the left wing position in Jacks Piper PA18-180 Super Cub.

Monty Clark flew the number two position on the right in his 1945 Piper Cub.

This picture was taken just prior to the Stinson pulling out for the missing man formation.

The crowd gathers for Herb's memorial service.

After the meal, memorial service and fly-over, we had a special time telling Herb stories.
