Monty & Joey Clark's Truk Lagoon Dive
by Monty Clark
As some of you were aware, my son Joey and I traveled to Truk Lagoon (located in Micronesia, Western
Pacific). Truk Lagoon, 1,000 or so miles south of Guam,
was an area where the
Japanese maintained a fleet of ships
during WW II. On February 17-18, 1944, most of those ships were sent to the bottom of the lagoon during
"Operation Hailstone".
The photo to the right is a gray reef shark. We were in 70' feet located
on Pizion Reef.

The following photos are aircraft parts located on the 437' freighter Fujikawa Maru. This is a picture of the cockpit of a Japanese Zero, located in hole #2, in 90' feet of water. The other photos are of other Zeros, pieces and parts, in and around the same holding area. |
